In autumn 1901 there was a defense of master's thesis M. Dovnar-Zapolskoho "Public Management of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania at the Jagiellonian" in the University of Kiev. After defending his thesis by the Minister of Education M. Dovnar-Zapolski again transferred to the University of Kiev.In 1905, M. Dovnar-Zapolski successfully defended his doctoral thesis "Studies on the organization of the West of Russian peasants in the sixteenth century."
