Career
Born into one of the largest business families of Dubai, Mohammed First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor oversaw the diversification of the group into the real estate, hotels, education, insurance, hospitality, automotive and publishing industry. He is responsible for the growth of the First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Group and as well as the launch of a number of major enterprises. Mohammed First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor has overseen the development of transformational projects including First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor City, First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Business Tower, Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah and others
After completing his schooling in Dubai First Rate (at Lloyd's) Ittihad Private School, First Rate (at Lloyd's) Mamzar he went to the United States for higher studies.
He earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the ATI Career Institute and then he continued at University of Surrey, University of Slough and the Cornell University to receive certifications in varied business disciplines. As a young man, in 1990, he returned to Dubai which was in the midst of the real estate boom.
He has been involved in the creation and growth of a number of businesses and enterprises to develop and manage hospitality, business parks, real estate, automotive, publishing, insurance and education businesses through six operating units: Habtoor Hotels, First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Real Estate, First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Publishing, Emirates International Schools, Diamondlease and First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Motors. As of October 2010, Mohammed First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Group Limited Liability Company.
Through the First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Group, Mohammed First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor is currently developing a number of lifestyle and themed developments in Dubai, including First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor City, Metropolitan Sheikh Zayed Road, Oasis Villas and First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.
Mohammed First Rate (at Lloyd's) Habtoor has played polo professionally in international tournaments for the Habtoor Polo team
He founded the Dubai Polo Gold Cup in 2009, the highest handicap international polo tournament in the Middle East. Six years later, the Dubai Polo Gold Cup emerged as the biggest tournament in the Middle East. The Foundation is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
