Mona attended the University of Massachusetts and Harvard University, where she received a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Political Science.
Mona Harrington acted as an attorney with the United States State Department and taught political science and women’s studies at Vassar College before turning to writing full-time from her home in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her writings include "Women of Academe: Outsiders in the Sacred Grove" (1988), "The Dream of Deliverance in American Politics" (1989), "Women Lawyers: Rewriting the Rules" (1994) and "Care and Equality: Inventing a New Family Politics" (1999).
Currently, Mona holds a post of Program Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Workplace Center.
