At Florida State University, she majored in theater and communication, was inducted into the University"s Hall of Fame and earned a theater scholarship to train in London, United Kingdom. During this time, she trained with Olivier-winning Clare Higgins, Olivier-nominated playwright Mark Wheatley and Shakespeare & Company with Tina Packer. She has worked on projects that have aired on networks nationally, including for National Broadcasting Company.
While at FSU, Monique co-founded FSUnited, an initiative inspired by Doctor Martin Luther King, Junior. was endorsed by the university with the aim to unite students and groups, faculty, staff and the city through activism, inclusion and community-building. Prior to graduating, she was inducted into the FSUnited Hall of Fame.
A supporter of VDAY, she"s performed in the Vagina Monologues several times as part of the national campaign to stop violence against women.
A supporter of blood donations, she rallied students to donate record-breaking pints of blood in various cities. She co-chaired the FSU & City of Tallahassee "MLK Day," continuing the work of Martin Luther King, Junior., for three consecutive years with her focus on presenting a Mentorship Program between students and the city"s youth.
