Career
Before serving in the Kentucky Senate, McGarvey worked for Jack Conway as special assistant to the attorney general. McGarvey also worked for Congressman Ben Chandler and for the law firm, Frost Brown Todd. McGarvey was born in Louisville, Kentucky and attended duPont Manual High School.
He earned a bachelor"s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and his juris doctor degress from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
