Mr. Zeidner was born on February 10, 1948, in Regensburg, Bayern, Germany. He is a son of Aron and Regina (Bochner) Zeidner. His father worked as a dental technician.
In 1972 Moshe Zeidner earned Bachelor of Arts from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1976 he graduated from Hebrew University with Master of Arts degree. Mr. Zeidner received his Doctor of Philosophy from the same university in 1983.
Mr. Zeidner joined the staff of Haifa University, Haifa, Israel, serving as an instructor from 1983 to 1984, lecturer between 1984 and 1989, senior lecturer in the years 1989-1994. In 1994 he was appointed professor of education 1994 and in 1995 director of Laboratory for Cross Cultural Research in Personality and Individual Differences at the same university.
From 1988 till 1989 Moshe Zeidner held the post of a visiting scholar at Stanford University. In 1992 he became a visiting fellow at Oxford University. Later Mr. Zeidner worked as a lecturer at colleges and universities in the United States and Europe, including Indiana University-Purdue University, concurrently he was a conference organizer. During the years of 1988-1990 Moshe Zeidner occupied the position of psychological test editor for Consulting Psychologists Press.
He held the position of dean of research at the University of Haifa from 2000 to 2005. His main fields of interest are in the area of human emotions, personality and individual differences, with particular concern for the stress, anxiety, and coping process, the interface of personality and intelligence, emotional intelligence, and psychoeducational assessment. He has also served as Consulting Editor for two APA Journals - Journal of Educational Psychology and Emotion.
Moshe Zeidner was a visiting scholar at Oxford University between October and July, 2006. Mr. Zeidner acted as a visiting professor at University of California, San Diego, from July to September, 2006. In October, 2006 he joined the staff of Princeton University, holding the post of a visiting professor. He became a visiting scholar at Columbia University in April, 2013. During May-June, 2013 Moshe Zeidner served as a visiting scholar at Stanford University. From April to June, 2013 he occupied the post of a visiting scholar at Harvard University.
Mr. Zeidner is also a member of the Board of several international journals, including: Anxiety, Stress, and Coping: An International Journal and Applied Psychology: Health and Welfare. He is series co-editor of the Plenum book series on Human Exceptionality. He is an author and co-editor of a number of books as well as a contributor to psychology and education journals, including Personality and Individual Differences, Educational Psychologist, School Psychology International, International Journal of Children's Rights, Journal of Personality Assessment, and Journal of Youth and Adolescence.
