He started a movement called Ahimsa Mahakumbh to stop the export of meat and leather from India. He opposed the High Court"s order to impose ban on Sallekhana. He pointed out that using leather belts did not reflect non-violence in 2011 when leather belts in the dress of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh were replaced with canvas ones because of the cost and poor availability of leather.
