Three years after graduation proceeded to Germany for further studies (1898).
Career
Returning home rejoined his alma mater as professor. Later founded Japan Society of Geography with fellow scholars and began publishing "Review of Geography." He was also a distinguished educationist. Is the author of "Geography of Japan" in 10 volumes.
