Background
Naomoto Koremune was born circa 880 in Sanuki (Kagawa Prefecture). He was a descendant of Komano, whose lineage dated back to an old dynasty of China, the younger brother of Naomune. Both brothers were allowed to take to themselves the Japanese surname of Koremune. Their previous surname was Hata-no-Kimi.
