He stayed behind in Hokkaido University as an assistant, to become an assistant professor (1942) and dean of its Faculty of Science (1951). Was awarded the Hattori Hoko Society scholarship for his research in nuclear acid from the root of malt. Is a member of the Japan Chemical Society. Among his works is "The Course of Food."
