Takechi Naornichi was born in Tokyo, 1870.
After graduating from Keio University continued his studies abroad.
Returning home, joined the Taiwan Sugar Company (1900) and rose gradually to become its president (1927).
Retired (1939) in favor of his son, Masaru. Served also as auditor of Morinaga Confectionery and Japan Suiso (hydrogen) companies. Did much to develop the sugar industry in Formosa, being the founder of the new Formosa Sugar Manufacturing Company.
