Nezumi Kozo Jirokichi

Background

Nezumi Kozo Jirokichi was born in Edosaki, Ibaraki, Japan.

Career

He would sneak into the residents of daimyo and wealthy merchants to steal and give away his hauls to poor people. Arrested in 1832, he was executed in Edo.

Achievements

• His life is dramatized in Kabuki plays and stories. It appears playwrights and story writers mixed up his life with that of Inaba-kozo.
