Nicholas C. Hlobeczy earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Ohio, in 1952.
Nicholas Hlobeczy has been head of the Photography Department at the Cleveland Museum of Art since 1968. He also taught photography at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, 1969-1973, and has taught private workshops since 1973. He coordinated photo workshops for Minor White in Cleveland from 1963 to 1966 and assisted White at two Hotchkiss, New York, workshops. From 1955 to 1967 Nicholas Hlobeczy worked as a lithographer for Photo Litho Plate Company in Cleveland.
