He taught at the Moscow Conservatory where he was a professor from 1981. Among his pupils were Vyacheslav Artemov, Eduard Artemyev, Dmitri Smirnov, Vladimir Tarnopolsky, Vladimir Martynov, Anton Rovner, Sergey Pavlenko, Ivan Glebovich Sokolov and Vladimir Bitkin.
