Nick Archer went to the independent Denstone College in East Staffordshire. He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983. From 1995-1997 he was First Secretary in Oslo, and from 1997-2000 he was Assistant Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales.
He gained a more senior position, becoming Head of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office"s North-East Asia and Pacific Department from 2001-2002, then that of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office"s Near East and North Africa Department from 2002-2005.
High Commissioner
In March 2006 he became the High Commissioner to Malta, remaining until August 2008. Ambassador
He became the Ambassador to Denmark on 14 October 2008.
