(This book provides the analytical 'tool-kit' necessary to...)
This book provides the analytical 'tool-kit' necessary to understand the global economic environment within which the business executives of the 1990s and beyond have to operate. The approach emphasizes the basic determinants of the demand and supply sides of the economy, business cycles, inflation, unemployment, monetary and fiscal policy, exchange rates and forecasting, rather than the more esoteric features of economic theory. Each section begins with a statement of learning objectives and concludes with self-assessment questions.

(The issues of growth performance and structural change ar...)
The issues of growth performance and structural change are critical to an appreciation of British economic development. This text reviews Britain's growth performance and considers the changing structure of the economy. It incorporates a discussion of the controversial political issues in this sphere: deindustrialization, North Sea oil and the environmental cost of economic growth. Against this background, it analyzes the evolution of the supply-side policy in the post war years, and speculates on its likely development in the 21st century.
