Nikita TOROPOV, USSR Mineralogist and chemist. Doctor of Technology Science; Professor, since 1940; full member, USSR Academy, of Building and Architecture, since 1957; Director, Institute of the Chemistry of Silicates, USSR Academy of Science, since 1953. Stalin Prize, 1952.

1930 graduated Leningrad Polytechn. Institute.

Career

1930-1941 and 194453 at Leningrad Polytechn. Institute; 1941-1944 at State Planning Institute for Enterprises and Research Work in the Cement Industry. 1959 attended 6th international Congress on Ceramics, Wiesbaden.

Works deal with mineralogy of silicates and physicochemical study of silicate systems. Has worked on physical chemistry of semiconductors and ferrite materials.

Religion

God can not be proven by science which is the main way we study and understand our universe or natural world.

Views

Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
