In 1928 Nikita Ivanovich graduated from the seven-year school in Tambov and nine-year school in Voronezh and in 1931 he graduated from literary and linguistic department of the pedagogical faculty of the Voronezh State University.
Nikita Prutskov was a lecturer in Nikiforovsky and Kirsanovsky (Central Black Earth region) agricultural colleges. Inspector of the district department of national education (Semiluki village, Central Black Earth region). Since 1932 Nikita Ivanovich was published in local newspapers. Post-graduate student of the Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute (since 1934). In 1938-1943 he worked at the Omsk State Pedagogical Institute. Since 1951 researcher, and since 1966 head of the sector of the new Russian literature at the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House).
Author of over 10 books, including "The Creative Way of Gleb Uspensky" (1958), "The Mastery of Goncharov the Novelist" (1962). In 1968, Prutskov participated in celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the Voronezh State University.
