Nikolai Sergeevich Avdonin

Nikolai was born on December 29, 1903, Krasnoye Lebedyansky Uyezd, Tambov, Russian Federation.

Education

He graduated from the Agronomy Faculty of the Voronezh Agricultural Institute (1930).

Career

Since 1933 he was the head of the laboratory of agrochemistry of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Distillation Industry. Since 1936 he was the head of the laboratory of agrochemistry of the zonal research institute of the grain industry of the Non-chernozem belt. Since 1939, the head of the Main Directorate of Research Institutions of the People's Commissariat of Agriculture of the USSR, at the same time since 1948 the senior scientific employee of the Research Institute of Vegetable Economy. Since 1949, Professor, Head of the Department of Agrochemistry of the Biology and Soil Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Sphere of scientific interests: plant nutrition.

Achievements

• The author of more than 200 works, including books: "Plant nutrition" (Moscow, 1939); "Granulated fertilizers" (Moscow, 1952); "Questions of the plant nutrition system" (Moscow, 1941); "Application of granular superphosphate" (Moscow, 1954).
