In 1825 Nikolai Khrisanfovich graduated from the 4th grade of a gymnasium.
Nikolai Khrisanfovich debuted on the stage of the I.F. Stein Kursk Theater. Later he performed in various provincial theaters, more than once participated in the touring performances of M.S. Shchepkin and P.S. Mochalov. Nikolai Khrisanfovich played Shakespearean roles: Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, Lear, Richard III, as well as Karl Moore and Ferdinand (in the dramas by Friedrich Schiller "The Robbers", "Cunning and Love").
The main place in Rybakov’s repertoire was occupied by melodramas, in which he sought to introduce "the truth of feelings and the spirit of rebellion". The image of Neschastlivtsev created by him (the comedy by A.N. Ostrovsky "The Forest") acquired great fame. Rybakov has repeatedly performed in Voronezh. From September 1839 to December 1840 he played in the troupe of L.Y. Mlotkovsky, who was then led by P.P. Mikulsky. He was a partner of P.S. Mochalov in his touring introductions in Voronezh in the spring of 1840. He spent the season of 1850-1851 in Voronezh, where he played a diverse repertoire.
