1888 graduate History and Philology Faculty, Saint St. Petersburg University.
1890 began pedag and organisation work in Bogoroditsa former local government authority, Tula Province. 1896 co-founder, teachers’ mutual aid society 1895-1896 helped prepare and direct All-Russian Congress of Vocational and Technical Training Teachers.
1897-1902 directed Yckaterinoslav Railroad College and Yekaterinin Railroad schools. Helped found Social for the Promotion of Children’s Physical Development. Lectured on history of Russian lit at People's University.
1902 moved to Tver' former local government authority and elected chairman, local teachers’ society 1904 moved to Saint St. Petersburg. During 1905-1907 Revol attended illegal teachers’ congresses in Moscow and Finland.
Member, Central Committee, illegal All-Russian Teachers’ Union. Chairman. Federation of National Teachers’ Union and Education Societies From 1906 taught at Saint St. Petersburg former local government authority Teachers’ Seminary.
1909 moved to Moscow. From 1910 head, Tikhomirov Women's Teachers Training Courses, Moscow. Also contributed to various pedag journals.
After 1917 October Revol helped train teaching personnel. 1920-1927 head Unified School Department, then Department of Model Experimental Establishments, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Education. Collegium member, Main Social Training and Polytech Education Board, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Education.
From 1923 teaching and research work at Teachers’ Training Faculty, 2nd Moscow University. Also taught on Higher Pedagogical Research courses, at Library Institute, Children’s Reading Institute, Institute of Sciences Pedagogical, etc:.
Member, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Academy of Pedagogical Sciences from 1944.
