1916-1923 military surgeon, Russian and Red Armies. 1923-1939 lecturer in infectious diseases, Smolensk Med Institute, then associate, Sanitary Epidemiological Laboratory, All-Union State Sanitary Inspectorate, Moscow. 1939-1951 head, Chair of Infectious Diseases, Gorky Med Institute.
1952-1965 head, Clinic of Acute Respiratory Infections and deputy sci director, Institute of Infectious Diseases, USSR Academy of Med Sciences, Kiev. 1959 attented 2nd International Congress on Infection Pathology, ' Milan. 1962 read paper at 3rd International Congress on Infection Pathology, Bucharest.
Did research on various aspects of the pathology of infectious diseases with special reference to viral infections. Also studied the effect of antibiotics on the body in the course of infections. Wrote over 130 works.
