Nikolay PAVLOV, USSR Dermatologist and venerologist. Candidate of Medical Science; Head, Chair of Demarto-Venerology, and Deputy Director of Studies and Science Work, Belarusian Postgraduate Medicine Institute, since 1951.
PAVLOV, Nikolay was born in 1896.
1922 graduated Medical Faculty, Moscow University.
1928 on science mission in Japan and the Philippines to study means of combating leprosy. 1948 organized All-Union Leprosy Research Institute in Astrakhan. Member, Editor Board, journal “Vestnik dermatologii i venerologii” (Bulletin of Dermatology and Venerology).
Directed expeditions to study leprosy in Far East, Yakut Soviet Socialist Republic, Kara-Kalpak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, Kaz Soviet Socialist Republic and Pamir. Works deal mainly with leprology. 1922-1925 intern at Dermato-Vcnerological Clinic, Moscow University.
1925-1928 Director, Far Eastern Leprosarium. 1929-1939 senior associate, Anti-Leprosy Section, Moscow Tropical Institute. 1939-1948 lecturer, 1st Moscow Medicine Institute.
1948-1950 Director, All-Union LeprosyResearch Institute, Astrakhan.
