Military theorist; began to teach during World War II at Frunze and Voroshilov General Staff Military Academy. Simultaneously Section Head, History Deputy, USSR General Staff. Participated in military analysis of major combat operations and research into military tactics.

1959-1960 attended international conferences in Baden, Austria, and Moscow, at which he read papers on international security.
