1907 — 15 assistant to professor V. L. Komarov, Saint St. Petersburg (Petrograd) Higher Women's Courses. 1908-1910 studied the taxonomy of brown, red and green benthic plants in the Black Sea. From 1922 worked at Petrograd (Leningrad) Botanical Garden, then at Botanical Institute, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Science
Did research on mycology with special reference to floristics and taxonomy. Named 75 new species and six new genera of fungi. Described several then unknown crop parasites.
1949, together with Ye. V. Shlyapina, completed first classification key to fresh-water algae in the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.
