Career
Nikolay Afanasyevich participated in the Crimean War. He was the commander of the battalion of the Pavlovsky military school and until 1885 was the Colonel of the Moscow Guards Regiment. In 1885-1901 Repin was a director of the Voronezh Mikhailovsky Cadet Corps.
His articles of military publicistic content were published in the newspapers Novoye Vremya, Moskovskiye Vedomosti, and Russkiy Invalid. Author of books: "Pavlovsk Military School" (Saint Petersburg, 1898), "The City of Smolensk in Its Past and Present" (Saint Petersburg, 1905), "Educational Walks with Students in Russia".
