In 1894 Nikolay Kardashov graduated from the Moscow Gymnasium. After that he studied at the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow University (1894-1897).
Nikolay Kardashov was a member of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party since 1897. He participated in the activities of the Social-Democratic Organization in Voronezh "The struggle counter", the revolutionary events of 1905 and 1917.
