Nikolay Pavlovich graduated from the editorial department of the literary department of the Leningrad Historical and Linguistic Institute (now Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences) (1933).
In 1933-1941, Nikolay Pavlovich worked as a reporter, the head of the department of culture and art of the newspaper Commune (Voronezh). In 1941-1944, he was a literary employee of the newspaper of the South Ural Military District. In 1944-1950, Sadkovoy was the head of the Saratov City Department of Arts. He was a director of the Opera and Ballet Theaters in Kuibyshev (now Samara) (1950-1958), Kazan (1959-1961), Voronezh Musical Theater (1961-1966), Moscow Operetta Theater (1966-1971). He was a Deputy Head of the Main Department of Culture of Moscow (1971-1979). He was a director of the Big Symphony Orchestra of the USSR State Radio and Television (1979-1988).
Nikolay Pavlovich was the author of the article "Gorky in the Voronezh Theater" in the collection Voronezh Regional Drama Theater (Voronezh, 1938). Hepublished in the journal "Theater", "Theater Life" and other publications.
