Career

He is a former Legal Adviser to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and currently serves as Senior Adviser at the Political Directorate of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). Melzer graduated summa cum laude from the University of Zürich with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in law.
