Nina Ferdinandovna Aganjanova

Background

Nina was born on October 27, 1889, in Krasnodar, Russian Federation. She came from the merchant family.

Education

She was expelled from the gymnasium for participation in the political movement. After that she moved to her relatives in the city of Voronezh, where she studied at the private gymnasium of A.V. Alisova. She studied at the Faculty of History and Philology of the Moscow Pedagogical Courses (since 1909).

Career

Since 1917 she was an employee of the Soviet representative offices (Prague, Riga). She started working in the cinema in 1924. Script-consultant, editor and head of the scenario department of the studios "Mezhrabpomfilm" and "Soyuzdetfilm."

The author of scenarios of several feature films, including "The Battleship Potemkin" (jointly with Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein, 1925). In 1945-1952, she was a lecturer at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography.
