Career
Five waka poems in the Manyoshu Anthology and three Chinese poems in the Kaifuso Anthology are attributed to him. Was appointed Minister of the Left (724). On a false charge, he was forced to kill himself. He appears to have incurred the jealousy of the Fujiwaras who were influential in the Court. It is recorded that he once held a poetry meeting and banquet at his residence in honor of an envoy from Shiragi, a sovereign state in ancient Korea.
