Nobuoki Shimamoto served at General Affairs Section of Nagasaki Shipyard. After it was renamed Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Company (1934) became chief of Business Section of Nagasaki Shipyard of the company (1936).
Appointed councilor and chief of Business Department of the head office (1939), vice-president (1942) and chief of Shimonoseki Shipyard, Wakamatsu Shipyard and counselor (1946) and managing director of Nishi-Nippon (Western Japan) Heavy Industry Company (1960) and became vice-president of Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Company (since 1951).
Holds additional posts of trustee of Keidanren (Federation of Economic Organizations) and director of Gyosen Kyokai (Fishing Boat Association).
