After graduation from the university Okabe entered Inawashiro Hydroelectric Company and when it had merged into Tokyo Dento Kaisha (Electric Light Company) he became its director. Okada served also as president of Kanto Electric Industry Company and Toyo Denki Seizo Kaisha (Electric Manufacturing Company) and served other companies. Resigned in 1945.
