After graduating from Kyushu University (1937) went into the service of Hitachi Manufacturing Company the same year.
He became engineer for Nissan Automobile Company (1943). Known as an authority on history of the development of machinery he was awarded Jiji Shimpo's 20,000th Issue Memorial Prize for his thesis titled "Actualities of War Production." Among his works is "Theories of Modern Machinery Technique."
