In 1914-1916 he served in the 17th Gonvydskaya division of the Austro-Hungarian army.In May 1916, under the city of Lutsk fell into Russian captivity. In Russia he served in the 1st division of the Serbian Volunteer Corps. Since the end of 1917 had been in the ranks of the Red Guard in Ukraine. From the middle of 1918 he was the commander of a partisan detachment in the area of the city of Bakhmut, Ekaterinoslav province. He was an active participant in the defense of Tsaritsyn in the cavalry brigade. Since September 1918 he served as the battalion commander in the brigade of the 3rd International of the 10th Red Army. Since January 1919 he was the commander of the squadron of the S. Budyonnycavalry corps (later the 1 st Cavalry Army). Since June 1919 Dundić was an assistant commander of the regiment of the 6th Cavalry Division. In October 1919 he took part in the battles for Voronezh and was distinguished by exceptional courage. As part of a group of 5 fighters made a daring attack on white-occupied Voronezh.
He died in battle with the White Poles.
