Takizawa Osamu was born on November 13, 1906 in Tokyo, Japan.
Takizawa made his screen debut on the stage of the Tsukiji Shogekijo (Little Theater) in 1924. His first appearance was made in the play Julius Caesar. Starting at the Tsukiji Little Theater, Takizawa participated in a number of theatrical troupes before forming Gekidan Mingei with Jūkichi Uno. With the advent of films Osamu became a movie actor and has featured in several pictures. His was praised for his performance in Death of a Salesman and also directed a version of The Diary of Anne Frank. Perhaps his most notable film role was in Fires on the Plain.
