Oshima Hideichi founded Taiyo Insatsu Kaisha (Printing Company) in 1940 and Shufu-to Seikatsu magazine in 1946. He became president of Taiyo Insatsu Kogyo Kaisha in 1948. Oshima Hideichi was elected once to House of Representatives.
He held additional posts of director of Nihon Shuppan Kyokai (Japan Publishers' Association), chief director of Nihon Shuppanbutsu Kyodo Kumiai (Japan Publishers' Cooperative Union) and permanent director of Niigata Kenjinkai (Association of Natives of Niigata Prefecture).
