Background
Osumidayii Takemoto was born in 1881 in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Real name: Yasutaro Nagata.
Education
He studied the art under Osumidayu III in Osaka.
Career
He made his debut in the Bunrakuza Theater at Osaka and subsequently performed at the Horieza and Chikamatsuza theaters. He succeeded Osumidayii IV in 1927 and belonged to the Chinamikai group.
