Having graduated from the university Ota entered Mitsui Bank. After that he toured Europe and America inspecting financial business. Seizo served also as president of Taizo Jitsugyo Kaisha (Business Company) and chairman of Seikatsu Shokenkai (Livelihood Securities Society) and as director or auditor of several other companies.
Ota held various additional posts including those of councilor of Federation of Economic Organizations and permanent director of Nikkeiren (Federation of Japan Employers' Associations).
