Otozo Kawasaki

Background

Otozo was born in 1895, in Toyama Prefecture.

Career

Entered Hattori Shoten (Store) Company (1911) and became its president (1925) and continued in that post after that company was renamed Kofuku Sangyo Company (1943). Became director of Foreign Trade Department of Nagoya Chamber of Commerce & Industry (1947), chairman of Chubu Men Sufu Orimono-sho Konwa-kai (Central Japan Cotton and Staple Fiber Fabrics Dealers& Council) (1948), president of Asa- hi Toki (Pottery) and Kowa Boseki Companies (1949), director oi Nagoya Cham¬ber of Commerce & Industry and Nagoya Sen-i Torihiki-jo (Textiles Exchange) (1950) and chairman of Foreign Trade Committee of Nagoya Chamber of Commerce & Industry (1951) and vice-chairman of Nagoya Chamber of Commerce & Industry (1954).

Achievements

• Held various additional posts including that of member of Export & Import Trading Council of International Trade & Industry Company.
