He received a public school education in New York City, later studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed his professional education at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.
Member of the office of James Gamble Rogers at 70 East 45th Street from 1915 until the time of his decease, and after 1936 Professor of Design at the University of Pennsylvania. Brought in childhood from Germany to this country, he received a public school education in New York City, later studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed his professional education at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.
During his long association with Mr. Rogers Mr. Faelten participated in the designing of several important buildings, an outstanding example of which was the Harkness Pavilion at Columbia's Presbyterian Medical Center. He also assisted in planning hospitals and various public buildings in New York and other cities.
