Owen Day was born on July 17, 1890, in Portland, Oregon, United States.

Education

Day earned his bachelor’s degree from the Linfield College in 1914, his Bachelor of Divinity degree from Newton Theological Institution in 1917, and his Doctor of Divinity degree at Linfield in 1955.

Career

Day was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1917, and served churches in Watertown, Massachusetts, Portland, Oregon, Spokane, Washington, Selma, California, Los Angeles, California, and Grand Junction, Colorado, before retiring to Chico, California, in 1953.

Achievements

• Day was best known as the author of such works as Dramas: The Modern Prodigal and the Better Way (1923), Law and Sentiment (1932) and The Hallelujah Hole: The Story of a Frontier Preacher (with Nancy C. Thomas, 1976).
