Pamela Tingale

Background

Pamela Tingale was born on October 17, 1938 in Greenfield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of Victor Saxon Bottoms, an engineer, and Marion Jane Leyland.

Education

Tingale attended Newnham College, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from it in 1960, also she received master's degree from the college, as well as Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1964.

Career

Tingale started her career working as an archivist for three years from 1963.

In 1967 she became a research assistant to the Reverend Honorable Lord Glendevon, she held that position for two years.

Tingale served at the Open University as a tutor from 1972 till 1979. During that same period of time she was also a lecturer at Worker’s Educational Association.

She was an Honorable Librarian at the Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society from 1974 until 1980. Simultaneously Tingale was a chair of Historical Association at Buckinghamshire branch.

She is a contributor of academic articles on medieval economic and monetary history to scholarly journals.

Tingale is the author of academic articles, researches on English medieval monetary economy, as well.
