Patricia Dragisic was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States. She is a daughter of Nick P. Dragisic, a machinist, and Georgiana (Eckstein) Dragisic, a retail sales manager.
Patricia received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.
In 1966, Patricia was appointed a yearbook editor at the Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois, a post she held till 1973. Between 1967 and 1968, she acted as a tutor in reading at Mayor’s Committee on New Residents. From 1977 till 1981, Patricia worked as a senior editor at World Book Encyclopedia in Chicago.
During the period from 1981 to 1990, Patricia acted as a freelance editor and writer. It was in 1982, that she was appointed a managing editor of consumer books at the American Medical Association in Chicago, a position Patricia continued to hold till 2007. In addition, between 1992 and 1998, Dragisic acted as a volunteer at the Chicago Public Library.
Since April 2008, Dragisic has been acting as a volunteer at the Alberto Culver Health Learning Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Her duties include covering the reference desk and doing research to help people with their questions about health and their medical treatments.
