• Former Libertarian Party National Chairman. Professional translator.
  
  Won Supreme Court case establishing First Amendment protection for paid initiative petition circulation, Meyer v. Grant, 486 US 414 (1988). Result made possible many examples of citizen lawmaking, including legalized casino gambling, medicinal and recreational marijuana.
  
  Successfully defended the liberty of many wrongly-accused criminal defendants; also lost some cases where defendants have been wrongly convicted and incarcerated, some for decades.
  
  Successfully defended juror Laura Kriho against judicial charge of contempt of court for telling other jurors of their right to vote their conscience.
