Resigned pastorate 1st Congressional Church, Moline, Illinois, to become special correspondent on waterways, Chicago Record-Herald, January, 1909. Became editorial writer, St. Louis Republic, March, 1909, editor in charge editorial page, May, 1912, editor, 1913-1917.

Founder, 1917, and editor and sole owner America at Work, now Executive’s Magazine.
