Fought against General Denikin and Wrangel and against Makhno’s forces. 1921 head and comissar, Moscow Military Education Institutions Board. As commander, composite cadets unit helped crush Antonov revolt in Tambov Province.
1922 deputy commander, Bukhara Forces Group in Centr Asia. Fought against Basmachi movement. 1922-1923 head, “Vystrel” Tactical Infantry School.
1923-1924 commander and comissar, 13th Infantry Corps in Centr Asia. April 1924 sent to China as Sun Yat-sen’s military counselor.
