1904-1905 studied at Agronomical Academy, Berlin.
1890-1894 taught in Ust’-Ude and maintained contact with political exiles. 1895 moved to Saint St. Petersburg to pursue his educational and played an active part in rcvol movement. Acted as go-between between League for the Liberation of the Working class and its underground printing press
1896-1897 arrested and imprisoned for his connections with the Lakhtinskiy Printing Press, which printed a pamphlet of Lenin’son 1897 exiled to Ufa Province, where he began to work as statistician. Worked for Ufa, Samara, Smolensk, Vologda, Khar’kov and Tula Zemstvos, rising to head of a province statistical department.
After 1917 February Revol headed Department of 1917 Agric Census, Minister of Agriculture Active in drafting “Regulations on State Statistics”. 25 July 1918—1928 mang, Centr Statistical Board.
Organized Soviet central and provincial statistical system. And helped conduct 1918, 1920, 1923, 1926 and 1939 censuses. Supervised publication of statistics on Soviet national economics.
Published statistical yearbooks, manuals and the journals “Vestnik statistiki” and "Byulleten’ TsSU”. From 1921 also Presidium member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics State Planning Committee. 1928-1929 Collegium member, Centr Statistical Board.
1929-1949 Presidium member, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic State Planning Committee and All-Union Lenin Academy of Agric Sciences. From 1949 member, Sciences Methods Council, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Centr Statistical Board.
