With over 30 years’ experience in hotel business, I am confident that my expertise and caliber enable me to deliver targeted results set by any hotel/establishment. I am currently holding the position of Chief Operation Manager/General Manager for 290-rooms Meritz Hotel and 200+ shop lots Bintang Megamall Shopping Centre.
I was with Hong Kong Sino Group of Hotels as the General Manager. In Sino, I was responsible for formulating strategic business plan for the member hotels of the group including Gold Coast, Royal Pacific, Island Pacific and City Garden Hotels.
I was the Assist Vice President of Highlands Hotel, a 5-star with about 1,000 rooms, 11 food and beverage outlets and casinos. The hotel is owned by the Genting Group, the biggest enterprise in Malaysia. I was in charge of the whole operation of the hotel and all the F & B outlets. I am experienced in creating varieties of packages to suit customers of different tastes and needs
I was with the Genting Group for more than 8 years. Before joining the Group, I had worked for different hotels including Langkawi Holiday Villa Beach Resort in Malaysia, GoodWood Park Hotel in Singapore, Holiday Inn Hotel and Excelsior Hotel in the UK. Due to my outstanding performance, I was promoted to the top management since 1994.
Apart from operational experience, I had also participated in setting up two hotels, namely the Executive Hotel in Sabah and Awana Porto Malai Langkawi Island Resort in Langkawi. All these experiences had further enhanced my capability and business acumen in taking up new challenges in hotel business and tackling problems arising from hotel operation.
I am also strong in sales and marketing skills and have proven track records. My business contacts extend over to China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, which I believe, would be an asset for me to make contribution to your client.
It is my honor that in 2000, I was awarded a PJK honorable badge by the King of Malaysia to recognize my contribution to the promotion of tourism in Malaysia.
Specialties: I finished my formal hotel training in hotel management in Singapore and the United Kingdom and got diplomas granted by STPB and the American Hotel and Motel Association. I am conversant in English, Putonghua and Malaysian Malay, and a couple of Chinese dialects and foreign languages including Fujian , Chaozhou, Fuzhou , Cantonese, Indonesian Malay and a bit of Thai, My language talent renders me the confidence to deal with visitors coming from all parts of the world.
