Background

PHILLIPS, Percival was born in 1877 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, United States of America Son of Hibbard S. Phillips, Doctor of Medicine.

Education

Studied at public schools and privately. Associated continuously with daily newspapers in Pittsburg and New York, in executive capacities and as special correspondent, 1895-1901. Avar correspondent for American syndicate in Turco - Greek campaign, 1897.

Career

Principal war correspondent Daily Express in Russo-Japanese war. Travelled extensively Japan and China. Other journalistic missions in Germany, Denmark, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, and West Indies.

With Sir Alfred Jones’s party in Kingston, Jamaica earthquake, 1907. In Balkans during Near Eastern crisis, 1909. Barcelona riots and other missions in Spain, 1909.

With ex-President Roosevelt during European tour, 1910. Special correspondent on start'Daily Express since 1901.
